Surgeons should strongly consider not doing brow lifts in men, as this may make them "strange looking” and take away something that by all accounts seems to be an attractive feature, according to Phoenix, Ariz., cosmetic surgeon A. Chasby Sacks, M.D., who presented “Why Brow Lifts Should Perhaps NOT be Done on Men” yesterday at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s (AACS’s) 2017 annual scientific meeting in San Diego, Calif. “… almost all movie celebrities considered either interesting looking or handsome invariably have low slung eyebrows and full upper eyelids with apparent excess upper eyelid skin, giving them what appears to be, at least in our culture, their most attractive features,” Dr. Sacks tells Cosmetic Surgery Times.

He demonstrated during the presentation that removing these features may make male patients look different — even strange. The brow lift result might ultimately diminish their sexiness and masculinity, according to Dr. Sacks.

“If the patient has difficulties with lateral vision because of their excess upper eyelid skin, then the conservative removal of some excess eyelid skin can be cautiously considered,” he says.
