A new study (Rho NK. Lip Lifting Efficacy of Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injections: A Quantitative Assessment Using 3-Dimensional Photography J Clin Med 2022 Aug 4;11(15):4554) compared the volume enhancement and lifting ability of two different types of hyaluronic acid in the lips. There was no statistically significant increase in mean lip volume and lip projection at 4-12 weeks with the different types of hyaluronic acid. No serious complications were observed and it was shown that the degree of cross-linking may not be a determining factor in lip volume enhancement with hyaluronic acid.
