There are several ways to remove hemorrhoids, including surgery, ultrasound, laser and bipolar diathermy. A recent study (Lim DR et al. Comparison of a hemorrhoidectomy with fultrasonic scalpel versus a conventional hemorrhoidectomy. Ann Coloproctol 2016 Jun 30;32(3):111–116) compared the results of hemorrhoidectomy performed with an ultrasonic scalpel and conventional methods. It was shown to be effective and safe. It reduces operative time, blood loss, and postoperative pain similar to the results of laser hemorrhoidectomy.
