Phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholic acid (PC-DC) injections have been used as an alternative to liposuction. A new study (Thomas MK et al. Injection Lipolysis: A Systematic Review of Literature and Our Experience with a Combination of Phosphatidylocholine and Deoxycholate over a Period of 14 Years in 1269 Patients of Indian and South East Asian Origin. J Cutaneous Aesthet Surg 2018 Oct-Dec;11(4):222–228) studied the effects of lipolysis injections on the face (cheekbones, jaw, around the mouth), the arm, thighs and around the knees. The need for lipolysis for 1-2 sessions confirms that maximum improvement is achieved already in the first session. The PC-DC cocktail used for lipolysis as a topical administration is effective for reducing local thickness especially on the face and back in younger women (20-30 years old).
